He grew up in rural Transkei and his interest had always been in electric engineering He got a position at Transkei Post and Telecommunications as a Trainee Technician, so over a three-year period, he worked and the company would pay for his school studies. ”It was the right thing for my situation, even though it was not the degree I wanted,” says Vuyani. He obtained a Diploma in Telecommunications, even though it was not engineering, it spoke to his interests in communication and how devices like radios function. Vuyani then went on to do his BCom and later his Master’s, and got where I am today. Best wishes to Mr. Jarana from Corporate Ladder.
